Bored, arched, desperate... why there is no formula to create something clever?

It's already 10 PM and this already seems hopeless..in the course of the day I have checked the most popular work and it's nothing really impressive. They don't seem to follow the basic of literature, they just focus on how appealing their characters can be and their personal environment; with a few exceptions.
If I expect to win, I can't waste time searching work from unknown people, it takes too much time...in this business the first to show up has a huge advantage and his magazine has been published for a while now, it could even be consider as popular.
Initially...depending on the target demographic, a work can be divided in : Komodo, Shonen,Shoujo,Seinen and Josei; this in order of age and gender. To achieve the largest audience it would be better to try some sort of combination between Shonen and Shoujo.
It's a known fact that even older people still enjoy these stories thus it would be my best bet, though....what should I write?
I have studied several average work that goes from comedy to romance and from romance to action, yet the thematic seems to be the same and the main plot while sometimes well constructed, tends to be repetitive...

I have never been the type to give up easily and of course I won't start now, but...this is a real pain. I still have no idea how something like "this" can be so popular ~Gulp~ a nice amount of coffee will keep me awake and a "Red Mule" keeps me conscious ...how can someone make a living out of this! and even more....how can someone enjoy making one of this "Manga"?!

Wish I would be reading a good book...oh my old friend "Poe" I don't get this world, even your most bizarre work has more sense. So... "Shonen" for a manga to be consider a Shonen, generally the protagonist must be a young boy in their teens, though exceptions always exist. Some manga don't even follow this "rule".
Yet they do are designed for a male audience of that age..now Shoujo, this seems to generally be of the romantic type or just simply take a look of an ordinary daily life. That would mean my best approach would be to to this, and make the protagonist be this one and the plot to be like this I could reach the biggest audience. I just need to set the whole thing in a certain world...reality or fiction...
Argh! I will leave that for later... already 2 in the morning and I must be ready for work at 6, for the time being...relax, a shower and to enjoy the best moment of the day.
Sink in a cheering Rachmaninof and light up with Sarasate, fell in Bach and reach the deepest with Mozart...in true happiness.
I might not be an expert in music, but I do know what I like and...finally my first work of manga is done. "The Last".

A tiresome night, a morning of celebration and we are about to see a Shonen with a big amount of Shoujo or a Shoujo with too many characteristics of a Shonen....we are about to see "The Last"
