Hello everyone , on today's post I
would like to explain something that seems to be misunderstood by
many people and that often keeps people away from the blog.
The term "Doujin" or "Doujinshi" is often depicted in the internet community as some sort of "fan fiction" based on an anime , video game , TV show or movie and often including adult material ; something along the lines of....

And yes that is a doujinshi , but what it actually makes it a doujinshi is the fact that it was made in an independent way. A Doujin or Doujinshi is the Japanese term for self-published works and it can be anything from manga to magazines or games and novels; often amateur artist make this kind of works to get some fame and experience and get some money , but also professional artist publish this kinds of work to be able to publish something outside the usual market they work in.
Contrary to the western belief Doujinshi while including adult content is actually only a little percent of the doujin that produced are sexually explicit , most Doujin are actually parodies or alternative stories of popular Manga.

Then you might be wonder "Hey Kyou if Doujin/Doujinshi are supposed to be amateur work , why do you call Manga to the ones on the blog?"
And there is a simple answer to that , I often use the term to describe actually the works that are parodies or based on something else , for instance my previous example was based on Fate/stay night
we will do some stories based on some popular things , like for instance the one coming up based on certain candy colored equines....
